I will start this post off with one major rule, “Don’t pay full price for trends….EVER”.  We all know that trends come and go so why fork over ton’s of money for clothing items that just may not stick around for more than a season.  When I am thrift shopping I always look for the season’s most popular trends.  Sometimes I score big and believe me, it’s really exciting to find items that you can wear for an entire season that you paid pennies for.  Scroll down to see three spring/summer trends that cost me less than 10.00 per item!

Flower Power

I actually purchased this flowered maxi dress at the end of last summer.  I didn’t get the chance to wear it before it got cold but since the flower trend is still going strong I was able to pull it out of the closet and wear it this spring and will definitely sport it through the summer months.

Off The Shoulder

The  “off the shoulder” trend is definitely a front runner this season.  This look it perfect for date night and the bell sleeves on this top is the icing on the cake.  If you are more of a modest dresser but still want to be on trend, this top is perfect because as you can see if can be worn on the shoulder also.   The most important thing to remember, “You don’t have to compromise to dress on trend”.  Stay true to yourself and wear what’s comfortable to you!

Once again I have waited until the very last minute to do Mother’s Day Shopping.  My mom is not a picky person at all so it’s usually fairly easy to shop for her.  And of course since I’m a mother I have to treat myself to a little something right (that’s my story and I’m sticking to it)?  This soft surroundings maxi dress is “everything”.  Not only is it the perfect length but the A-line style makes a perfect fit for all body types.  I choose the Burnt Sienna color because I love earth tones and it is really hard to find a solid “brown” maxi dress.

Let’s talk versatility.  The awesome thing about a basic tank maxi dress is the endless possibilities when it comes to styling it.  Wedges, flip flops, stilettos, you name it the shoe fits.  And toppers, let’s see, a denim jacket, cardigan, button down shirt, pashmina, I think you get the picture.

Now for the most important question, “how much does it cost”?  You guys know that I’m a bargain shopper but as I have said before, sometimes I like to splurge.  This dress is $89.95 and worth every penny.  I will wear this dress all spring and summer long and in the fall with boots and a cute sweater or blazer, definitely getting my money’s worth!  So if you are looking for a a gift for mom that she will love the Santiago Dress is it, oh and   definitely pick one up for yourself 🙂
