I’m not sure if I can blame my current obsession with vests on the fact that I’m 46 and starting to experience “private personal summers”. I have found myself reaching for a a vest now that the temps have started to get cooler. I have always been a “cold natured” person. This has changed over the past four or five years. Don’t get me wrong, I still love a nice coat. Vests are just so versatile and can quickly be removed if things (or me) start to heat up!
Last month I was searching for bright new color to add to my growing collection and went straight to the Thred Up website. I found this beautiful emerald green beauty by Talbots at about 70% off the retail price. This particular one is a light quilted (cotton) style so it’s perfect for the weather that we are having now (chilly mornings and mild afternoons).
I have found that thrifting an outwear item like this vest allows me to purchase two or three different colors and styles and pay the price I would spend on one in a retail store. Now, just like all other clothing, shopping off season or at the end of season will always guarantee you a good deal. But there are times when we want to wear a particular trend and don’t want to wait and that’s when thrifting comes in handy. Vest’s are definitely trending this season.
Weather you are looking for a puffer, fur, quilted, down or denim vest Thred Up is a great place to start. You can use the code “THEBROWNCLOSET” to get an additional 50% off a 50.00 purchase.
