I wasn’t paying attention to the sale of the day when I entered the Goodwill a few weeks ago. This fuchsia dress was peaking out amongst a stack of black dress’. Since I’m really trying to incorporate more color into my wardrobe, I decided to give it a try. Typically the dress’ are 5.00 so you can imagine my surprise when the cashier told me that my total 2.50. I had no idea that yellow tag clothing was an additional 50% off.
As soon as I arrived home I tried the dress on and fell in love immediately but it was definitely a mini dress. No worries, that just meant that it would go in the “date night” section of my closet. I do wear shorter dress’ with leggings and ridding boots or as a top with skinny jeans. My personal preference is to save the short dress’ and bare leg’s for my husband.
Fuchsia pairs well with so many colors but I decided to go with grey for my dinner date. The ruffled sleeves give the dress a soft feminine look. I paired it with my grey nine west heels clutch, my chunky thrifted iridescent necklace. I topped it off with my grey JJill coat. This is probably one of my best thrift scores so far this year.
Don’t forget to ask a sales associate what the sale of the day is when thrifting, you never know when you will stumble upon the perfect dress at 1/2 price.
